Calvary Rockview is a new church starting in Castle Rock!
We have a heart for our community and our desire is to make Jesus non-ignorable in Castle Rock and to the ends of the earth. As a church, we don’t pretend to be perfect or strive to be impressive, but we do seek to point people to the one who is: Jesus.
Why Castle Rock?
The Denver-metro area is growing rapidly. Castle Rock has seen amazing growth along with Denver, and it has a lot of great things going for it: neighborhoods, schools, parks community culture and events.
But what the people of Castle Rock need is to know that they are deeply loved by God and that He displayed this love in an incredible way through His Son, Jesus.
Our desire is that, by God’s grace, Calvary Rockview would become a part of the fabric of this community and that as we labor toward the flourishing of our neighbors, Jesus would be made non-ignorable here in Castle Rock and beyond.
Why the name Rockview?
The rock in Castle Rock has become a symbol of hope in our community. That is why each fall the town gathers together to celebrate the lighting of the star on top of the rock. It was originally lit to give hope during the Great Depression and then subsequently on special occasions: victory in World War II, Broncos’ Super Bowl Wins, and again during COVID-19.
While lighting the start is a great way to remind people of hope, we want to point people to a greater Rock, the Rock of salvation, Jesus Christ (Psalm 18).
He is the reason we exist and gather and how we live our lives.
Our Four Core Commitments:
- Worship God Passionately
- Connect with One-Another Authentically
- Grow to Know God Deeply
- Go, Show, and Tell the Gospel Boldly
What is a “church plant?”
Oftentimes, new churches are referred to as “church plants.” Like all plants, new life in a church starts out small with just a tiny seed. Currently our church is that tiny seed being planted in the soil here in Castle Rock. Over time, our prayer is that by God’s grace this tiny seed would grow to be a strong and healthy tree with roots that penetrate deep into the earth.
We believe that God will build His church as we make much of Jesus, love our neighbors and invite others into what God is doing in our church community.
We are currently meeting as community groups from 6-8 p.m., Wednesdays and Thursdays, to share a meal and study the Bible together. We also meet as a core team from 5-6:30 p.m. on the second Sunday of each month. We plan to start a Sunday service in the near future.
If you would like to visit one of our community groups or core team meetings, or for more information please email Brad. No matter what your background is, we would love to have you join us.
To all who are weary and need rest;
To all who wonder if God cares;
To all who fail and desire strength;
To all who sin and need a Savior;
To all who hunger and thirst for righteousness;
And to whoever will come;
This church opens wide our doors
and offers welcome in the name
Of the Lord Jesus Christ.
