The Calvary Family of Churches is planting a new church in the south-metro Denver area!
Calvary Highlands Ranch is planning to launch in early 2021.
Why Church Planting?
Church planting is the primary means God uses to advance His kingdom.
The pattern we see in Scripture:
- Jesus commands His followers to make disciples of all nations, baptizing them and teaching them to obey all that He has commanded (Mt. 28:19-20).
- New disciples join a local church and are discipled in the context of that church family (Acts 2:42-47, 1 Cor. 12:12-14).
- Each local church’s chief method of evangelizing the lost and making more disciples was through the planting of other churches (Titus 1:5).
The apostle Paul, the first missionary, is an example of someone who carried out this simple strategy: he went into cities, preached the gospel and planted churches.
For 2,000 years the Church has grown through the God-given method of multiplying disciples who form and multiply churches. It is our longing to be a part of this eternity-shaping history, and we pray that you will join us.
Why Highlands Ranch?
Highlands Ranch is a diverse, family-oriented and active community that is largely unreached with the gospel. There are more than 100,000 people in this growing community that needs more healthy, gospel-centered churches to reach the approximately 65% that are unchurched and likely do not know Jesus.
Highlands Ranch also has a fast-growing population of international families, giving us an opportunity to reach the nations in a unique way. While there are some challenges in reaching lost people with the gospel in an affluent community, we are convinced that now is the time to begin planting and replanting churches in Highlands Ranch and the surrounding areas as part of making Jesus non-ignorable to the ends of the earth!
Who We Are
The Darden Family
Chris and Erin Darden have been married for almost 20 years. They met at the University of Mobile in Mobile, Alabama, where they both received their bachelor’s degrees. Chris went on to earn a Master of Arts in Christian Education from Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary in Memphis, Tennessee. Together, they have served in churches in Alabama, Tennessee, Nebraska, Texas and Colorado, where Chris has served on staff as a youth pastor, associate pastor or discipleship pastor. They have five children, each born in a different state.
Though God has allowed the Darden’s to live in different areas of the country, Highlands Ranch has been a constant in their lives with family in the area, making it a place that they have often called home. Their desire is to now settle down for long-haul ministry in Highlands Ranch as they plant this church to be a catalyst for other church plants and replants around south-metro Denver. Chris and Erin have a deep love for the local church and a passion to see Highlands Ranch reached with the gospel of Jesus Christ.
We believe that prayer is the most powerful thing you can do on our behalf. Join our prayer team for updates on how you can specifically pray for us and our church. One of the greatest blessings a church plant can have is a dedicated group of individuals who have committed to go and advance the gospel together. Whether you are in Denver or out of state, please prayerfully consider joining our plant team. We would love the opportunity to share a meal with you to simply share more of our vision for this part of the city and Calvary Highlands Ranch.
Due to our context, and in order to establish Calvary Highlands Ranch for the long run, we rely on the generosity of the larger body of Christ. If you feel led by the Holy Spirit to joyfully partner with us financially, visit https://donorbox.org/
