Raising up a core team in and around Las Animas

Our church planter/pastor, Dennis McDaniel, Jr. and the pastors of Calvary La Junta want to see a Gospel witness in Las Animas. We are looking for people to be part of our core team. If you are interested, please email or call Dennis at the contact information below.

Our location is the building formerly known as Parkview Baptist Church located at 1625 W. 6th St. in Las Animas. We are conducting a Bible Study there every Tuesday evening from 6-7:15 p.m. Our building also currently has a renovation project going so we are currently joining our Sunday morning service with the congregation of Calvary La Junta, which meets at 421 Colorado Ave. in La Junta. Sunday school at La Junta starts at 8:45 a.m. and the worship service starts at 10 a.m.

WHY CHURCH PLANTING?

Church planting is the primary means God uses to advance His kingdom.

The pattern we see in Scripture:

  • Jesus commands His followers to make disciples of all nations, baptizing them and teaching them to obey all that He has commanded (Mt. 28:19-20).
  • New disciples join a local church and are discipled in the context of that church family (Acts 2:42-47, 1 Cor. 12:12-14).
  • Each local church’s chief method of evangelizing the lost and making more disciples was through the planting of other churches (Titus 1:5).

The apostle Paul, the first missionary, is an example of someone who carried out this simple strategy: he went into cities, preached the gospel and planted churches.

For 2,000 years the Church has grown through the God-given method of multiplying disciples who form and multiply churches. It is our longing to be a part of this eternity-shaping history, and we pray that you will join us.
